Q: Why am I unable to log into Rave Alert?
A: If you are having difficulty signing into Rave Alert, please check with the Rave administrators at your site to find out how they want you to sign in, and whether you already have a pre-loaded account in Rave.
There are many ways to log into or sign into Rave Alert.
Students, parents, and citizens may be sent an email with instructions for registering for Alerts using certain credentials that are already known to the school or organization.
For example, if login authentication to Rave is done through:
- LDAP: then the user must sign in with their LDAP credentials. If the user reports an error with credentials, the cause is often that their LDAP account is not set up correctly. Advise the user to talk with the staff at your school or organization that manages LDAP, which is often the IT department.
- CAS, Shibboleth, SSO based on email, or SSO based on unique ID: the users must be pre-loaded, usually through a bulk data load, before they can register through the Rave Console. Advise the user to wait until the day after they sign up for Rave Alert through the school before they try registering through the Rave Console.Rave native authentication
